BOOKMARKS is a brand new show airing on Aurora Cable Internet
this spring. Hosted by children’s book enthusiast, Christie Harkin, its purpose is to give young readers a forum to talk about their favourite literature and to hear about what their friends
are reading. We are looking for children from kindergarten to Grade 8 who would like to appear on community television to present and discuss any books they like best. We want to know what the
book is about and what they liked about it. Students will also be given the opportunity to ask questions about other books presented by other members of the student panel.
Each week will have a different theme and a new panel of student reporters – so we will always be looking for new, enthusiastic participants.
We aren't necessarily looking for the best readers - we are looking for ANY child who is interested in ONE book and who is willing to TALK about it!!
Please tell your students about BOOKMARKS and encourage them to send us their book reviews. Children in younger grades or those with special
needs could just send us pictures that they drew to illustrate their favourite parts of their books and then present their pictures on the air.
In the interest of safety and privacy, students will be identified only by first name, age, and school on the air and on our website. |
